Introducing my first Art Devotional. This is something I've been considering doing for a while. So my plan is every weekend to bring out a art or artist devotional.
So let's start right at the beginning, Genesis. God said "Let there be light, and there was light." As artists we are creators but I believe we follow the greatest creator and artist of them all. We create because he first created. We see the paintbrush of God over all creation.
Let's consider this phrase "Let there be light." As artists I believe we are and should be doing a number of things. Firstly as artists with our colours and creativity we bring light to a place. Often the beauty of our art brightens up a place and it brings light. Light gives people the ability to see where they are going it guides people to where they want to go.
Another way we can operate as Artists is to bring that which is hidden or that which is in darkness into the light. It becomes visible. Thirdly order for our art to make a difference in people's lives and even for ourselves in terms of getting exposure and even having others buy it we must be visible. So there we have it, some thoughts on the concept of lights and us as Artists. For those who are not aware Genesis is in the Christian bible. I've been busy doing some art so will be sharing this with you all soon.
